Ok, so you are worried about the consent of strangers?
Let me see, if your neighbors are vegetarians, does that mean that you do not barbecue ribs during the summer?
Do you refrain from reading The Satanic Verses on a train for fear of offending the Muslim in the next aisle? (you don't know if he's a Muslim or not but he could be and suffer a terrible religious trauma!)
Do you insist that the local bookstore not carry anything that might offend the poor, stupid Xtians?
Should I wear a hat in the restaurant so the moronic deer hunter and his imbecile offspring in the next booth will be more comfortable?
Maybe white and black men and women shouldn't go out in public together. After all, racists have tender feelings and it might bring out a memory of some horrible incident when a person of another race actually spoke to them many years ago and they still have nightmares about it.
And God forbid that a Jew should wear a yamulka in public because that would offend the xtians, the Muslims and the local Nazis all at the same time!
When are you folks going to get it through your skulls that you offend people every day merely by living? You don't ask consent of animal rights people to wear leather. You don't ask vegetarians for their consent to eat a hamburger. And unless there is something really wrong with you don't ask consent of the person in the next aisle of what you should read on the commuter train.
The ONLY person who has any consent in play is my partner and if anyone objects to what we are doing that is their problem, not ours.
